No Bounds Warm Up Party feat. Mala / Darwin / re:ni / Sinai Sound System

Mala is UK bass music royalty. End of. From his pioneering work as Digital Mystikz with Coki to the co-founding of DMZ club night and label with Coki, Leofah and St.Pokes he's a pillar of contemporary UK music culture. His legacy is one of innovation and quality. His label Deep Medi has proved to be a pillar of underground UK bass music and his Brownswood flexings as Mala In Cuba and Mirrors have shown how talented and adept he is at continuing his cross cultural infusions but always with his completely brilliant knack of creating music of depth and substance. We are so excited to welcome Mala back to Hope Works for this very special No Bounds Festival warm up. The first time he came it was on the Void Incubus rig, this time we welcome him back in a poignant and meaningful way by pairing him with Sheffield's own, internationally respected and brilliant Sinai Sound System. This event is simply not to be missed.

In support we bring two selectors who are steadily making a considerable impact on the global scene in their own ways. Both Darwin and re:ni are formidable selectors, with a depth and flair all of their own as individuals and artists.

Darwin runs the excellent UK bass focussed SPE:C label as well as a hugely respected Berlin party Reefe, now the proud owner of a Berghain/Panorama bar residency. Taking the UK sound to the heart of Berlin's rave mecca is something we are really excited about so bringing Darwin here in support of Mala seems a really fitting way to bring her back after her first show at Hope Works many years ago.

re:ni is an absolutely brilliant dj (and a lovely human too). We've seen her perform many times and have been looking for the right opportunity to get her into the main warehouse at Hope Works for a long time. This is it! re:ni's calm and steady rise has been powered by skill and a flair for versatile, tasteful selecting that's gained her a lot of respect from the best dj's the world over. With her own NTS show with Laksa and clocking up mixes on Ilian Tape and Dekmantel re:ni is an emergent force in UK techno. We are so happy to welcome re:ni back here in this way on such a special festival warm up as this.
